Job summary

A community college in Louisiana is seeking a Faculty / Concentration Coordinator for Cardio Vascular Echosonography. This full-time position requires a Master's Degree and experience as a registered sonographer. Qualifications

• Minimum two years of clinical experience as a registered sonographer.

Responsibilities

• Engage in didactic, laboratory, and clinical instruction.
• Manage and organize clinical education activities.
• Ensure student evaluations are documented and tracked.
• Develop and implement remediation plans.

• Oversee the scheduling and assignment of students to clinical sites.

• Ensure continuous quality review and improvement of student clinical experiences.

Duties and Responsibilities:

40% Instructional Responsibilities:

• Engage in didactic, laboratory, and clinical instruction as needed.
• Offer direction and guidance to students and clinical instructors to optimize the learning experience.
• Carry out all duties and responsibilities listed as a full-time faculty.
• Develop and implement remediation plans.

20% Coordinate Clinical Education:

• Manage and organize clinical education activities.
• Oversee the scheduling and assignment of students to clinical sites.
• Provide administration and supervision for all student clinical experiences.
• Ensure continuous quality review and improvement of student clinical experiences.

20% Evaluate and Document Student Performance:

• Ensure the documentation of student evaluations and track progression toward competence.
• Develop and implement processes for evaluating student performance.

5% Curriculum Assessment and Development:

• Provide academic oversight for the concentration components of the program.
• Participate in curriculum planning and development for the clinical education component.

5% Service:

Required Education: Master’s Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography

Required Experience:

• Minimum two years of clinical experience as a registered sonographer in the professional sonography field.
• Documented experience in supervision, instruction, evaluation, student guidance and in educational theories and techniques.

Advanced Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work well with others at all levels of the organization
• Interpersonal skills to handle any student concerns
