  • Provide administrative and clerical support for assigned department(s) and their faculty and related staff.
  • Schedule transportation and other logistics for class trips, guest speakers, and faculty traveling for College-related functions, events, etc.
  • Handle invoices, requisitions, travel advance and reimbursements, etc., for submission to the Business Office or Human Resources.
  • Oversee facility needs and coordinate with the appropriate department for technical support, including AV equipment in classrooms, housekeeping, security, and maintenance concerns. Maintain supplies for office operations.
  • Respond to inquiries, distribute messages, and communicate any changes in office operations.
  • Review and revise workflows to improve office operations.

Job description

Washington College in Chestertown, MD, is seeking qualified applicants for the Faculty Administrative Assistant position. The Faculty Administrative Assistant provides comprehensive administrative support for the college's faculty, mainly (but not limited to) those in the assigned building or as otherwise assigned; interacts with students, other faculty and staff, and the general public; oversees the facility; and maintains office supplies. This position requires strong organizational, written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and computer skills.

Essential Functions
  • Provide administrative and clerical support for assigned department(s) and their faculty and related staff.
  • Schedule transportation and other logistics for class trips, guest speakers, and faculty traveling for College-related functions, events, etc.

Additional Responsibilities

Support other Faculty Administrative Assistants as needed. Perform related duties incidental to the work described herein or as may be assigned.

Management Responsibilities
  • Authorize expenditures in accordance with the approved budgets.
  • Provide appropriate supervision, including communication of clearly defined job responsibilities and development of part-time staff.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma required.
  • Previous administrative and computer experience.
  • Previous business and administrative experience.
  • Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.
  • Well organized and able to multitask.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to help faculty, staff, and students.

Salary: $37k - $40K
