Essential Job Functions

  • Delivers course content, learning activities, and assessments using the university’s online learning platform, according to JWU course outlines and online course delivery standards.
  • Measures student achievement of course objectives.
  • Maintains accurate records of student attendance, academic achievement, and performance in accordance with university policies and procedures.
  • Posts a syllabus that uses the university-approved syllabus template.
  • Responds to requests for information and/or action from students and university administrators in a timely fashion (24 hours or less).
  • Communicates early with any student in danger of failure or in need of individual counseling.
  • Refers students to appropriate university resources for information, guidance, financial assistance, career development, etc.
  • Collaborates with the instructional support team for online teaching orientation and course delivery preparation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Doctorate (Ph.D., DBA, or similar) in a marketing, advertising, business analytics, communications, or a related field of study from a regionally accredited institution or other appropriate accreditation as determined by Johnson & Wales University (ABD will be considered).
  • Education or industry experience specialization in marketing and/or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Publications and an active research agenda or continued connection with industry through consulting.
  • Ability to contribute through research, teaching, industry experience, and/or public engagement to the diversity and excellence of the learning experience.
  • Experience teaching undergraduate and graduate students.

Compensation: $4,100 - $4,700/course dependent on course and degree of candidate.

This is a remote position limited to residents of the following states: Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, and Virginia.
