Job summary

Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking a motivated janitorial/sanitation associate to maintain cleanliness across the plant, support the Master Sanitation schedule, and stock PPE for Operations. Your role includes cleaning sensory rooms, hand-wash stations, drains, and floors, while coordinating with Production and Quality teams.

You will handle inventory, replenish sanitizers, repair minor equipment, and ensure compliance with GMP and safety protocols on a day shift.

Qualifications

• Chemical handling, CIP sanitation and janitorial experience preferred.
• Inventory control/handling preferred.
• Must work autonomously with limited supervision.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair minor mechanical issues.
• Must manage time responsibly to complete assigned tasks on a regular schedule.
• People skills and training skills preferred.
• Ability to work side by side with Production and Quality to resolve issues.
• Work cross-shifts when necessary for business-needs purposes.

Responsibilities

• Clean Sensory Room after session; ensure no ice cream on counter and trash properly disposed.
• Maintain Storage Room shelves, bins and cabinets with supplies and PPE for Operations.
• Maintain soaps and sanitizers at Hand-Wash stations; keep areas clean.
• Scrub drains and prevent overflow; remove debris.
• Clean and sanitize areas per Master Sanitation schedule; keep carts, foamers organized.
• Maintain production floor and brushes; follow color code policy.
• Dispose of items in proper bins; keep floors maintained.
• Empty aerosol can dispensers as needed; follow PPE guidelines.
• Adhere to drain cleaning schedule under Master Sanitation program.
• Repair/replace paper towel dispensers at production entrances.
• Ensure hand sanitizers are replenished; replace as needed.
• Remove damaged equipment and dispose appropriately.
• Sanitize flat surfaces across the factory including offices and labs.
• Maintain accurate min/max inventory of cleaning and factory equipment.
• Work with Production and Quality to address environmental issues.
