Job summary

Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking a Production Operator to join our safety‑driven manufacturing team. You will wear required PPE, perform equipment safety checks, set machine controls to correct settings, and monitor batches while documenting results in the quality databases.

You will communicate with team members across shifts, rotate responsibilities on the line, and ensure hygiene and safety standards are maintained throughout daily operations.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal communication and collaboration abilities.
• Strong math and problem-solving skills are required.
• Aptitude for automated mechanical processes with troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work multiple shifts and/or schedules.
• High school diploma or equivalent education is expected.

Responsibilities

• PPE and safety gear checks; ensure safety devices function properly.
• Receive schedule and daily production info; prioritize tasks for operations.
• Answer calls and emails; address and resolve production issues.
• Log safety checks and maintain required documentation.
• Test E-stops and guards; log compliance per SHE requirements.
• Set machine controls per work orders and verify recipes.
• Monitor batch formation, take samples, and email lab results.
• Document production data in SAP/Globe databases and complete batch sheets.
