Job summary

Raytheon Technologies seeks a Quality Operations Engineer at the Dine’ Facility in Farmington, NM. You will partner with manufacturing, design and test teams to assure product and process compliance and drive continuous improvement. The role involves leading RCCA investigations, managing nonconforming material, developing inspection instructions, and interfacing with DCMA.

U.S. citizenship is required; Navajo Nation Preference applies to employment.

Qualifications

  • Requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and 2 years of prior engineering experience.
  • Manufacturing process experience in one of the following: (assembly, inspection, test)
  • Experience reading/interpreting engineering drawings and work instructions, process disciplines and tool control
  • U.S citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Responsibilities

  • Verify product and process compliance with contractual, technical, industry, AS9100 QMS requirements.
  • Regularly generate and publish Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ) Metrics.
  • Lead cross-functional RCCA investigations, identify nonconformances, provide solutions and close issues.
  • Ensure disposition of non-conforming material and facilitate MRB when necessary.
  • Support work instruction development and maintenance, review instructions, audits, and configuration management.
  • Develop and maintain inspection instructions meeting data package requirements and production needs.
  • Interface with Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA).
  • Participate in daily status meetings with factory and stakeholders to manage issues.
  • Conduct weekly meetings to reduce CoPQ and coordinate timely red rack disposition.

This Quality Operations Engineer will have Quality Engineering responsibility for one or more assembly areas at the Raytheon Dine’ Facility (Farmington, New Mexico) manufacturing location.

As a factory Quality Operations Engineer you will be interfacing with cross functional teams through face to face and teleconferencing interactions in a fast-paced environment with plenty of challenging opportunities. You will be engaging with Manufacturing Engineers, Product Test Engineers, Design Engineers, Production Associates, Management and customers to assure product and process compliance, continuously improve processes, and meet organizational goals. Your knowledge and experience will be valued and contribute to furthering the success of Raytheon Operations Quality.

Please Note: This position is located at the Raytheon Dine Facility in Farmington, NM. RTX- Dine Facility adheres to the Navajo Nation Preference in Employment Act in areas of recruitment and hiring practices.

What You Will Do
  • Verify product and process compliance with respect to contractual, technical, industry, AS9100 Quality Management System (QMS) require internal policies
  • Regularly generate and publish Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ) Metrics
  • Facilitates and lead cross-functional team in failure analysis, Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations, including identifying nonconformances, providing solutions, tracking issues to closure and leading Corrective Action Boards (CAB)
  • Ensure identification, physical control, and disposition of non-conforming material and facilitate Material Review Board (MRB) when necessary
  • Support work instruction development and maintenance activities by reviewing work instructions, test instructions, audit processes, and assuring configuration management
  • Development and maintenance of inspection instructions, ensuring inspection instruction meet the technical data package requirements and meet production needs
  • Regularly interface with Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA)
  • Daily status meeting with the factory support, factory management, hourly employees, and internal stakeholders to manage issue
  • Conduct weekly meetings to help reduce Cost of Poor Quality and facilitate timely red rack disposition.
Qualifications You Must Have

Qualifications We Prefer
  • Experience using quality tools (e.g.Pareto analysis, cause/effect diagrams, process mapping)
  • Experience with AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 Quality Management System
  • Experience with AS9102 First Article Inspections Requirements
  • Strong interpersonal skills with experience in negotiating, having difficult conversations, and ability to work well with factory management, hourly employees, and internal stakeholders
  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams in auditing process and product/process improvements in the factory or at suppliers
  • Experince with AS9145 - Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
  • Six Sigma or ASQ Certification
  • Data analysis; development and usage of actionable metrics
