Job summary

Raytheon, based in Tucson, AZ, is hiring a Product Quality Engineer to join the Operations Quality Assurance team. You will ensure aerospace products meet top quality standards, develop quality plans, and drive continuous improvement in a collaborative, onsite environment.

Product Quality Engineer (Tucson, AZ)

What YOU Will Do:
  • Ensure manufacturing processes and product builds comply with Quality and Engineering requirements.
  • Drive problem‑solving projects and challenge the status quo through root cause and corrective action investigations.
  • Provide analysis and recommendations for corrective actions on nonconformities and design problems.
  • Lead and drive alignment with quality and manufacturing engineers, program engineers, engineering management, operations, and shop floor personnel.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for quality, efficiency, and cost.
  • Ensure projects and process control documentation comply with requirements, objectives, and contracts.
  • Collaborate with team members, customers, and suppliers in a team environment.
  • Read, write, and understand work instructions.
  • Provide audit support.
  • Utilize APQP methodology to manage the quality‑production process.

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
  • Minimum of 2 years of engineering experience, including quality engineering or manufacturing engineering.
  • Experience interpreting technical drawings.
  • Experience using root cause and corrective action tools.
  • Previous experience using quality tools (e.g., Pareto analysis, cause/effect diagrams, process mapping).
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and action plan execution capabilities.
  • Ability to resolve high‑complexity problems using structured techniques.
  • Experience creating and performing holistic containment plans following a non‑compliance event (Escape).
  • Experience conducting and completing First Article Inspections or completing the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
  • Experience interfacing with customers to support business needs.
  • ASQ certifications.
  • Experience using SAP (PRISM).
  • Experience supporting AS9100 or equivalent audits.
  • Knowledge of descriptive statistics and statistical control methodologies including statistical software.
  • Ability to comprehend and translate external and internal requirements into effective work instructions.
  • Ability to understand drawings, work instructions, Bill of Materials (BOMs), consumable materials control, process disciplines, and tool control.
  • Level 4 Mission Assurance Certification (internal candidates only).
Clearance Information

This position requires a security clearance. DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSA CAS), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
