Job summary

RTX in Farmington, NM is seeking a Quality Operations Engineer for the Raytheon Dine Facility to support onsite quality programs and compliance efforts. You will verify product and process adherence to AS9100 QMS, publish CoPQ metrics, and lead RCCA investigations with cross-functional teams.

The role requires a STEM degree and at least two years of engineering experience, with U.S. citizenship for potential security clearance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred).
  • Minimum of 2 years of prior engineering experience.
  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, work instructions, process disciplines, and tool control.

Responsibilities

  • Verify product and process compliance with contractual, technical, industry, AS9100 QMS and internal policies.
  • Regularly generate and publish Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ) metrics.
  • Lead RCCA investigations, identify nonconformances, provide solutions, track issues to closure, and lead CAB.
  • Ensure identification, physical control, and disposition of non-conforming material and facilitate MRB when necessary.
  • Support work instruction development and maintenance by reviewing documents and ensuring configuration management.
  • Develop and maintain inspection instructions that meet data package requirements and production needs.
  • Interface with DCMA.
  • Conduct daily status meetings with factory support, management, hourly employees, and internal stakeholders to manage issues.
  • Conduct weekly meetings to reduce CoPQ and facilitate red-rack disposition.

Job description

Position: Quality Operations Engineer – Raytheon Dine Facility (Farmington, NM). Role: Onsite, U.S. citizen required.

What You Will Do
  • Verify product and process compliance with contractual, technical, industry, AS9100 Quality Management System (QMS) and internal policies.
  • Regularly generate and publish Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ) metrics.
  • Facilitate and lead cross‑functional teams in failure analysis, root cause and corrective action (RCCA) investigations, including identifying nonconformances, providing solutions, tracking issues to closure, and leading Corrective Action Boards (CAB).
  • Ensure identification, physical control, and disposition of non‑conforming material and facilitate Material Review Board (MRB) when necessary.
  • Support work instruction development and maintenance activities by reviewing work instructions, test instructions, audit processes, and ensuring configuration management.
  • Develop and maintain inspection instructions that meet technical data package requirements and production needs.
  • Regularly interface with Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA).
  • Conduct daily status meetings with factory support, management, hourly employees, and internal stakeholders to manage issues.
  • Conduct weekly meetings to reduce Cost of Poor Quality and facilitate timely red‑rack disposition.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 2 years of prior engineering experience.
  • Manufacturing process experience in assembly, inspection, or test.
  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, work instructions, process disciplines, and tool control.
  • U.S. citizenship required for eligibility for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Experience using quality tools such as Pareto analysis, cause/effect diagrams, and process mapping.
  • Experience with AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
  • Experience with AS9102 First Article Inspection Requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including negotiating, handling difficult conversations, and collaborating with factory management, hourly employees, and internal stakeholders.
  • Experience leading cross‑functional teams in auditing processes and product/process improvements in the factory or at suppliers.
  • Experience with AS9145 – Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
  • Six Sigma or ASQ certification.
  • Data analysis skills and development and usage of actionable metrics.
