Job summary

P3 Group is seeking a Consultant in Factory Planning & Industrial Engineering to help automotive and manufacturing clients design, optimize, and transform operations across North America. You will work with client leadership to develop factory concepts, run capacity analyses, and support new facility launches.

Ideal candidates have 3–7 years in factory planning or manufacturing consulting, with strong Excel/PowerPoint skills and familiarity with AutoCAD or Visio.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
• 3–7 years of professional experience in factory planning, industrial engineering, or manufacturing consulting.
• Experience with automotive OEMs, suppliers, or manufacturing consulting environments.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production systems, and factory planning methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with factory layout design, material flow planning, capacity planning and line balancing.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support factory planning initiatives including facility design, production system development, and plant layout optimization.
• Develop material flow, logistics, warehousing, and space utilization concepts for efficient operations.
• Conduct capacity analyses, production planning studies, and workforce assessments.
• Evaluate manufacturing technologies and automation concepts to improve productivity.
• Analyze production processes and identify opportunities to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve quality.
• Support greenfield and brownfield projects, expansions, and production transfers.
• Facilitate workshops with client stakeholders and define requirements and roadmaps.
• Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement to drive operational excellence.
• Prepare data-driven business cases and strategic recommendations for leadership.
• Contribute to business development and proposal activities.
