Job summary

P3 Group is seeking a materials planning consultant to help ensure material availability and optimize inventory across client operations. You will work with manufacturing, purchasing, logistics, and supplier teams to balance demand with supply and drive improvements.

Ideal candidates will have 3+ years in planning roles, strong MRP and ERP experience, and a track record of delivering data-driven improvements in high-volume production settings. Travel up to 100% may be required.

Qualifications

• Degree in a relevant field as listed.
• 3+ years in materials planning, production planning, or related environment.
• Strong knowledge of MRP, inventory control, demand planning, and SCM principles.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.

Responsibilities

• Analyze demand forecasts, production schedules, and inventory requirements to ensure material availability.
• Develop and maintain material requirements planning (MRP) processes to support production and demand.
• Manage planning parameters, lead times, safety stock, and inventory strategies.
• Monitor inventory levels and proactively identify shortages, excess, and risks.
• Coordinate with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and resolve disruptions.
• Expedite critical materials and drive recovery plans for shortages impacting production.
• Support S&OP and production planning activities.
• Collaborate with purchasing, supplier quality, manufacturing, engineering, and logistics teams to address material-related challenges.
• Coordinate engineering changes, product launches, and material transitions.
• Analyze supplier performance and inventory metrics to identify improvements.
• Maintain accurate planning data within ERP/MRP systems.
• Drive continuous improvement in inventory management and material flow.
• Support manufacturing ramp-ups and supply chain stabilization efforts.
