Job summary

U-Haul in Tempe is seeking a maintenance technician to perform repairs and preventative maintenance on HVAC systems, plumbing, drywall, and painting to keep facilities in top condition. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently, with a plus for welding and strict adherence to OSHA safety standards.

Hours are 7:00 to 3:30, Monday–Friday, with occasional weekends. Onsite benefits include medical, dental & vision, plus wellness programs.

Qualifications

• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Welding ability is a plus.
• Must follow all safety procedures and OSHA standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on HVAC systems and evaporative coolers.
• Maintain and repair plumbing systems, fixtures, drains, and water lines.
• Repair, patch, texture, and finish drywall surfaces as needed.
• Perform interior and exterior painting to maintain building appearance.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and complete work accurately.

Position Duties

• Maintain and repair plumbing systems, fixture, drains, and water lines.
• Repair, patch, texture, and finish drywall surfaces as needed.
• Perform interior and exterior painting to maintain building appearance.
• Respond promptly to maintenance request and complete work accurately.

Requirements

• The ability to weld in a plus.
• Maintain a workplace with daily housekeeping and clean up after job completion.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain compliance with company and OSHA standards.
• The ideal candidate is self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.

Hours of Operation

7:00 to 3:30 M-F, with the occasional weekend.
