U‑Haul is seeking a skilled maintenance supervisor in Kansas City, KS to oversee a maintenance team and ensure equipment operates safely. You will manage preventive maintenance, coordinate parts, and respond to issues across the plant.

The role requires hands-on experience with HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical systems, and the ability to train staff to meet high standards. This position emphasizes safety and reliable uptime across all shifting operations.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing an eight-person maintenance team.
• Ensuring all industrial machinery operates correctly and safely.
• Verifying that custodial duties meet plant standards.
• Managing and meeting preventive maintenance schedules.
• Ensuring necessary materials and supplies are available for the team.
• Responding to maintenance requests per plant standards.
• Diagnosing and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Diagnosing and repairing plumbing issues.
• Repairing pneumatic tools.
• Diagnosing and repairing industrial electrical issues.
• Training and coaching team members to build the skills required for their roles.
• Communicating clearly and effectively with staff at all levels.
• Using precision measuring tools to confirm that machine tolerances are within specification.

Core Responsibilities

Physical Requirements

• Ability to remain physically active for extended periods while moving throughout the campus.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, including lifting overhead when required.
• Ability to access and navigate all areas of the facility, including confined or elevated spaces.
• Must be able to safely access and inspect all company equipment.
