Job summary

Amcor's Jackson plant is seeking a Facility Service Technician to maintain the building and grounds, operate and repair equipment, and support GMP and safety programs. The role involves electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and other trades, with emphasis on safety, routine housekeeping, and compliance with ISO 9001, Food Safety, and ISO 15378.

Typical hours are 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday, with weekend work as needed; candidates should have 3+ years' relevant experience and a high

  • 3+ years experience in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and related trades.
  • Capable of physical mobility including lifting up to 35 lbs.
  • Able to follow safety requirements and PPE protocol.
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Negative drug screen results.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate and maintain equipment.
  • Maintain/buildings and grounds including lighting, restrooms, and clean-up.
  • Perform plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and related repairs as needed.
  • Follow Safety & Quality Absolutes and ISO requirements (ISO 9001, Food Safety, ISO 15378).
  • Work safely and communicate any quality or safety issues to management.
  • Oversee tasks to ensure projects are completed to standard.

Job Description

The Facility Service Technician is responsible for maintaining the building and grounds for the Jackson Amcor plant.

Essential Jobs and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Safely operate & maintain equipment
  • Maintenance & repair of building(s) and grounds including but not limited to changing out lights, restroom repairs, transferring items throughout facility, running data cable, installation of safety or general projects, demo & clean-up
  • Perform routine housekeeping, cleaning and maintenance to the facilities plumbing, electrical system, repairs of doors, windows etc.
  • Any other tasks as assigned.
  • Must follow and comply with Safety & Quality Absolutes.
  • Must follow and comply with all ISO 9001, Food Safety, and ISO 15378 established requirements.
  • Must follow all regulatory laws and guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Prefer 3+ years past experience / proven ability within electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, small engine mechanics, landscaping & custodial.
  • Capable of physical mobility including sitting, bending, twisting, standing, and lifting up to 35lbs.
  • Capable of complying with all Safety requirements including the use of PPE: PPE includes but is not limited to Bump Cap or Hard Hat, Safety Eyewear or Prescription Safety Eyewear, Safety Shoes, Hearing Protection and Disposable Mask.
  • Relationship skills to interact with Maintenance workers, staff & public.
  • Licenses where required.
  • High School Graduate or equivalent.
  • Negative drug screen results.
  • Work in a safe manner.

Additional Information

  • 7:00 am - 3:30pm M-F; Weekend as needed

  • Maintain a clean, healthy and safe workplace by ensuring adherence to safety standards.
  • Conduct required safety reviews of equipment and processes prior to project start-up.
  • Support the accomplishment of your work groups through the quality, timeliness and professionalism of your attitude.
  • Supply accurate and timely data as required by performance tracking and reporting.
  • Apply resources in a manner that maximizes their effectiveness while assuring quality.
  • Maintain a work environment that will contribute to the assurance of safety and GMP compliance.
  • Adhere to established procedures, perform self-checking and pay attention to detail in the performance of you and your team’s work.
  • Notify management in a timely manner of any problems with procedural compliance.
  • Report observed quality problems and deficiencies in a timely manner.
  • Make recommendations to management for improving the quality and efficiency of your work.
  • Oversee work to ensure projects are completed.
