Job summary

Amcor is seeking a Maintenance Technician to maintain production and building equipment through installation, repair and preventative maintenance in a safe and efficient manner.

The starting rate of pay is between $27 and $35 per hour, with shifts covering nights and weekends. The candidate should have strong mechanical and electrical knowledge, be forklift certified, and able to work overtime as needed to support production goals.

Qualifications

  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent combination of education/experience.
  • Must have excellent attendance and good work history.
  • Must score a 74% or higher on the Mechanical Comprehension Test.
  • Capable of physical mobility including walking, sitting, bending, climbing, twisting, standing, pushing, pulling and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work from elevated platforms and ladder lifts.
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed.
  • Preferred minimum of 10 years mechanical work experience.
  • Must have reliable transportation and own tools.
  • Must have excellent mechanical aptitude and demonstrated troubleshooting skills.
  • Must have excellent understanding of electrical, mechanical and hydraulic drawings used to troubleshoot equipment problems.
  • Must be forklift certified.
  • Able to work in a production environment, recognizing various sounds and alarms.
  • Must perform all duties in a safe and effective manner.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical and hydraulic problems on building and production equipment that uses electro-mechanical relay logic of PLC controls plus hydraulic, pneumatic and related equipment.
  • Make simple tool cuts using maintenance shop machine tools (lathe, milling machine, welding equipment, etc.).
  • Keep accurate records/ paperwork according to established recordkeeping procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with Supervisors, other mechanics and various production personnel.
  • Other Duties as assigned.
  • Accepts responsibility to comply with all safety, quality, customer, ISO, SQF and any other regulatory requirements.
  • has the authority to report concerns that could impact these requirements or suggest areas for improvement.

SHIFTS: 11:30PM - 8AM, Monday - Friday 7AM - 7PM, Saturday, Sunday, and 1 weekday.

RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITIES:
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical and hydraulic problems on building and production equipment that uses electro-mechanical relay logic of PLC controls plus hydraulic, pneumatic and related equipment.
  • Make simple tool cuts using maintenance shop machine tools (lathe, milling machine, welding equipment, etc.).
  • Keep accurate records/ paperwork according to established recordkeeping procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with Supervisors, other mechanics and various production personnel.

The starting rate of pay for this position is expected to be $27; however, starting pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills and experience between $27 and $35.
