Overview
Maintenance Technician is a mid-level position that focuses on safe work practices while leading electrical projects, assisting with project management, and providing technical/electrical support and repairs to machinery in production areas and equipment within the building and systems.
General Responsibilities
- Follow all safety and environmental policies and procedures
- Follow OSHA rules and regulations
- Monitor quality of product; inspect bottles for defects, inspect boxes for damage, and follow customer pack patterns
- Communicate and cooperate with other employees in a positive and constructive manner to achieve departmental and plant goals
- Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP); wear protective clothing and maintain hygiene
- Willing and able to work overtime when needed
- Identify and report violations and unsafe conditions to appropriate personnel
- Respond effectively in emergencies (e.g., fire, accidents) and direct activities of others
- Follow all department procedures and directives
Job Responsibilities
- Assist with building and programming on new and rebuilt equipment
- Follow mechanical and electrical prints
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment
- Apply continuous improvement practices (e.g., 6S)
- Support production to reduce cost and lead-time while improving quality and service
- Provide support for Quality to develop procedures and work instructions for corrective and preventive actions
- Develop training resources to train and motivate employees in electrical troubleshooting principles
- Demonstrate knowledge of electrical principles, blueprints, AC/DC motor controls, VFDs, and component-level repairs
- Provide timely repairs, upkeep, and preventative maintenance
- Ensure adequate repair parts are stocked
- Use MRO system for parts inventory management
- Recommend equipment improvements
- Assist with set-ups, start-ups, and quality qualifications
- Strive for continuous equipment improvement
- Maintain housekeeping and safety standards
- Ensure scheduled PMs are performed and recorded
- Enter all Work Order Requests into automated tracking system
- Maintain accurate recordkeeping and reporting of Work Order information
- Troubleshoot molding processes and adjust machines and auxiliary equipment to produce quality parts
- Troubleshoot auxiliary equipment to ensure proper operation
- Visually inspect work areas and safety guards; address safety hazards
- Reduce waste and promote best practices across the organization
- All other duties as assigned

Qualification Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing
- 3+ years of experience in maintenance (mechanical)
- 1+ years of experience participating in Continuous Improvement projects
- Ability to multi-task
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug test
- Ability to monitor quality of machine output
- Capable of lifting up to 35 pounds
- Able to work in a production environment and recognize various sounds and alarms
- Ability to follow all department procedures and directives
- Commitment to performing duties safely and effectively
Preferred Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Engineering/Engineering Technology
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Effective presentation methods and skills
- Ability to think resourcefully and strategically
