Job summary

Amcor is seeking a maintenance technician in Indiana to service blown film production equipment and perform scheduled preventive maintenance. You will document daily tasks, troubleshoot complex drives and controls, and collaborate with a team to keep lines running safely and efficiently.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, 2–4 years of industrial electrical repair, and the ability to read blueprints. Willingness to overtime and participate in on-call rotations is required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; one year of college/trade training or four to five years of related experience preferred.
  • 2–4 years of industrial electrical repair experience with drives, instrumentation and process controls.
  • Ability to read mechanical/electrical blueprints and troubleshoot systems.
  • Must work well in a team and follow written/verbal instructions with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Service blown film production equipment to minimize downtime and scrap.
  • Perform preventative maintenance as scheduled by Team Leader.
  • Complete open work orders promptly as directed.
  • Record daily work in shift reports and Plant Maintenance Log.
  • Inspect production lines and schedule preventive maintenance.
  • Weld and upgrade production lines and equipment as needed.
  • Work overtime and rotate on-call with maintenance staff.
  • Order parts as required for service.

Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follow all Company policies and guidelines
  • Adhere to attendance and safety guidelines
  • Service blown film production equipment in order to minimize downtime and scrap
  • Perform preventative maintenance as scheduled and directed by Team Leader
  • Complete open work orders in a timely fashion as directed by Team Leader
  • Record daily work done in emailed shift report and Plant Maintenance Log
  • Maintain Maintenance shop cleanliness and orderliness
  • Ability to assemble, disassemble and convert/upgrade production lines or support equipment as required for repairs, upgrades and/or installations.
  • Regularly inspect production lines and support equipment and schedule necessary preventive maintenance routines.
  • Welds together metal parts, equipment pieces, etc. as needed.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.
  • Rotates on-call schedule with maintenance staff.
  • Orders parts as needed for service.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Climbing stairs
  • Working from secured platforms of up to 40 feet high.
  • Standing for extended periods of time.
  • Wear all personal safety equipment required by Company policy and follow all Company safety policies and procedures.
  • Understand and consistently perform daily tasks i.e. (paperwork, computer entries, cleaning)
  • Ability to safety operate machinery.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High school diploma or GED required. Knowledge of a specialized field gained through specialized training equivalent to one year of college or trade school or equivalent experience of four to five years preferred.

Experience: Two to four years of experience in industrial electrical repair including drives, instrumentation, and process controls involving high-speed production equipment such as extruders, resin conveying equipment, packing equipment, and state of the art process controls.

Special Skills: Must possess basic mechanical and electrical skills. Must demonstrate ability to follow written and verbal instructions with little or no supervision. Ability to read mechanical and electrical and/or engineering blueprints, drawings and schematics. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical systems and equipment, including drives, motors, etc. Must work well in a Team environment
