Job summary

The position requires a High School diploma or GED, at least one year in safety-related fields, and OSHA 511 preferred. A valid driver’s license is mandatory and knowledge of Microsoft Office is expected.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of safety, fire and life safety, health and environmental, or risk management experience.
• OSHA 511 certification preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Minimum age 18.
• Additional education may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Establish and lead programs to evaluate and monitor safety, health, and environmental practices ensuring compliance with all applicable policies, contracts, and regulations.
• Interface with regulatory agencies and facility staff to address concerns and formulate corrective actions.
• Design and conduct safety training for facility staff and inmates/residents; ensure training and follow-ups are completed.
• Monitor contractor safety activities to ensure compliance with guidelines and codes.
• Lead and ensure completion of job hazard assessments, fire drills, facility reviews, routine inspections, and safety audits.
