Job summary

CoreCivic is seeking a Safety Manager to promote a safe, compliant culture in a secure facility. You will lead safety programs, train staff and inmates, and coordinate with agencies to implement corrective actions.

The role requires a high school diploma, at least one year in related safety fields, and willingness to pursue further training. OSHA 511 preferred; a valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year in safety, fire and life safety, health and environmental, or risk management.
• OSHA 511 certification preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar software.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Willing to complete any required fire/safety training or additional training.

Responsibilities

• Establish and lead programs to evaluate and monitor safety, health, and environmental practices ensuring compliance with all applicable policies, contracts, and regulations.
• Interface with regulatory agencies, safety committee members, and facility staff to address concerns and formulate corrective actions.
• Design and conduct safety training for facility staff and inmates/residents; ensure training and follow-ups are completed.
• Monitor contractor safety activities to ensure services comply with guidelines and codes.
• Lead and ensure completion of job hazard assessments, fire drills, facility reviews, routine inspections, and safety audits.
