Job summary

The Scoular Company is seeking a Facility Manager in Kansas to lead daily operations across a grain facility and related assets. You will oversee inventory performance, logistics, safety compliance, and team development while driving operational excellence and customer satisfaction.

You will collaborate with originators, merchants and leadership to plan maintenance, optimize blending and shipping, and ensure regulatory adherence.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
Experience managing or operating a grain elevator, cleaning plant, mill or agricultural commodity processing facility.
Detailed and process oriented with ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
Ability to analyze and independently solve problems.
Effective customer service skills and a positive business demeanor.
Ability to work in a high-stress and fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of accounting, financial practices and procedures.
Knowledge of the agricultural industry’s trading standards and procedures.
Willingness to travel as needed.
Good vision and hearing; safety awareness.
Mechanical aptitude; basic understanding of merchandising, safety and operational processes.

Responsibilities

Oversee all aspects of inventory management including segregation, conditioning, quality and shrink control.
Coordinate transportation and maintenance with managers, originators and merchants for on-time deliveries.
Provide strong execution focus with emphasis on commodity complexity, shuttle loaders and blending activities.
Advise leadership on maintenance and capital improvement to maintain performance.
Ensure product quality, quantity and inventories through inbound/outbound flow.
Deliver impeccable service to customers and direct vendors and customers in daily operations.
Maintain proficiency in merchandising and accounting basics relevant to the facility.
Develop revenue-generating ideas to grow the bottom line.
Plan and execute operational and merchandising strategies for facilities and trade units.
