Job summary

The City of Bellevue is seeking a Facility Operations Specialist to provide on-site preventive and corrective maintenance at multiple city facilities. The role operates Monday through Friday from 6:30am to 5:00pm with after-hours and emergency support as needed, contributing to reliable building operations and safety.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or a GED equivalent.
• Four or more years of progressively responsible related experience in commercial facility maintenance.
• Must possess, or be able to obtain, a valid Washington State Driver’s license by date of hire. Must have and maintain a good driving record.
• Must successfully pass a criminal background check.
• Apprenticeship, certification, or other training related to facility maintenance activities preferred.
• Or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Plans, schedules, and participates in the preventive maintenance program for mechanical building equipment and systems.
• Coordinate and/or complete modifications on small to large-scale building improvement and renovation projects and/or oversee the work of contractors and vendors.
• Perform root-cause analysis to diagnose problems and implement corrective action and preventive measures.
• Performs a variety of preventive and corrective maintenance tasks on buildings and systems.
• Includes but not limited to; plumbing, lighting, carpentry, access control, HVAC, and general customer service requests.
• Coordinates and conducts safety and fire inspections with state and local authorities and outside safety vendors.
• Draft documents, scopes of work, manages contracts/RFPs, selects contractors, and processes invoices and closeouts.
• Support project managers with technical knowledge and coordination of vendors.
