Job summary

GEO Corrections & Detentions is seeking a chief administrator for a facility, working with regional and local management to achieve facility goals. The role carries budgetary responsibility for all expenses and requires collaboration with client agencies.

Responsibilities include leadership of administration, security and treatment programs, policy enforcement, staff development and emergency readiness to ensure operations run smoothly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in behavioral sciences or related field; courses in business administration.
• Minimum of ten (10) years of work experience in a correctional or detention facility at the level of associate Facility Administrator or Warden or equivalent.
• Exceptions may be made for supervisory experience if candidate can supervise a large facility.
• Strong leadership ability, good judgment, and administrative skills.
• Maturity, flexibility, and the ability to command respect from inmates and staff.

Responsibilities

• Plans and leads administration, security and treatment programs; sets goals and schedules.
• Develops relationships with client departments and representatives.
• Enforces policies with written guidelines and procedures.
• Directs facility functions; assigns duties and delegates authority.
• Oversees staff recruitment, development and discipline.
• Ensures procedures and techniques are established across programs.
• Provides facilities, space and equipment for inmates and staff.
• Responds to emergencies 24/7 and manages safety and welfare.
