Nature of Work:This is supervisory and administrative work overseeing the operations and management of the Omaha Public Safety Training Center (OPSTC), a facility that includes improvements constructed by the City of Omaha and the Nebraska Military Department (Army National Guard). Multiple City departments, including Police, Fire, Public Works, Human Resources, and the Army National Guard, utilize the OPSTC facility. Work involves overseeing the management, operation, and administration of the facility, which includes areas reserved for the exclusive, joint, and common use of the City of Omaha and the Army National Guard. Duties include scheduling reservations for the facility, coordinating maintenance, and ensuring the facility meets both the current needs and long-term goals for usage of the facility. Supervision is exercised over subordinate staff. An incumbent in this position exercises considerable independence in the performance of duties and responsibilities and receives general guidance from a superior.
Education and Experience: The knowledge, skills, and abilities may be acquired through, but are not limited to, the following combination of education and/or experience.
Two years of college-level coursesANDFive (5) years of experience managing a facility.
OR
Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in municipal budgeting and contract development preferred.
Special Qualifications:
Pay Range:$83,324.80 with step increases to $106,891.20 Annually
