Job summary

The Planet Group in Massachusetts seeks an experienced Maintenance Technician to support commercial and industrial facility operations with preventive maintenance, routine inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs. The role emphasizes building system reliability, safety, and occupant comfort.

The ideal candidate is mechanically skilled, safety-conscious, dependable, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Trade school, vocational training, or technical certification preferred.
Experience in commercial/industrial facility maintenance, mechanical maintenance, refrigeration, HVAC preferred.
Valid driver's license required.
Forklift, aerial lift, scissor lift, OSHA or related certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on facility and building equipment.
Conduct routine rounds and inspections to identify issues and maintenance needs.
Monitor equipment operating conditions (temperature, pressure, vibration, flow).
Troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on building systems.
Assist with more complex repairs and maintenance activities as needed.
Perform filter changes, lubrication, cleaning, and basic mechanical adjustments.
Perform general building maintenance (painting, patching, fixes, carpentry).
Assist with basic plumbing and electrical maintenance where permitted.
Document maintenance activities in CMMS and communicate with stakeholders.
Support subcontractor activities and maintain safe, organized work areas.
