Job summary

Albany Med Health System is seeking a Facility Maintenance worker for daytime shifts to inspect, repair, and maintain building systems and equipment across the campus. The role involves HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and related trades to ensure safe, efficient operations.

The position requires hands-on maintenance, adherence to safety protocols, and cooperation with supervision to complete planned projects. On-call duties and overtime may apply as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience performing preventative maintenance on building systems and machinery.
• Ability to repair HVAC units, pumps, motors, and fans.
• Skilled in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and painting for facility repairs.
• Comfortable reading blueprints and schematics.
• Able to comply with safety policies and asbestos training.

Responsibilities

• Perform periodic preventive maintenance on machinery and systems.
• Repair and overhaul equipment such as compressors, pumps, motors, and fans.
• Conduct building repairs including painting, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work.
• Assist with snow removal and operate related vehicles.
• Maintain spare parts inventory and keep test/inspection records.
• Follow safety policies and participate in asbestos training.
