Albany Area Primary Health Care, a large community health center in Southwest Georgia, seeks a Maintenance Technician to keep our healthcare facilities safe and reliable. The role covers plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and mechanical repairs to support daily operations.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, hands-on trades experience, ability to use precision tools, and the stamina to perform physical tasks in a busy clinical environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in plumbing, electrical, mechanical repair, and carpentry.
• Ability to use precision measuring tools safely.
• Physical ability to climb ladders and lift heavy objects.
• Good communication in a busy environment.

Responsibilities

• Inspects buildings, fixtures, machines, and other units, noting repair needs and performing minor maintenance.
• Changes, washes, and cuts filters for air conditioners; checks bearings; installs hardware and coverings; installs restroom accessories.
• Replaces glass, screens, locks, and door closures; repairs chairs, doors, faucets, and cabinet doors.
• Assists with repair and preventive maintenance of motors, switches, compressors, water lines, and related equipment.
• Installs plumbing ducts, pipes, and fixtures; tests meters, relays, and HVAC equipment.
• Assists electricians in maintaining and repairing electrical wiring and apparatus.
• Repairs ceiling/floor tile; patches walls; paints; power washes exterior surfaces.
• Moves furniture and equipment; transports files to storage; cleans storage areas.
• Maintains gutters/roof tiles; handles drain/pipe issues; maintains parking lot surfaces.
• Performs routine and emergency maintenance on plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and carpentry systems.
• Uses precision tools to assess and repair mechanical systems and components.
• Inspects and repairs drywall, wiring, and equipment for operational integrity.
• Climbs ladders and accesses confined spaces safely for tasks at various locations.
• Communicates with team members and staff to coordinate repairs and ensure safety standards.
