Job summary

Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, NM, seeks a Maintenance Program Manager to safeguard missions by ensuring reliable, code-compliant facility equipment. The role supports the MSS-CE group and involves hands-on field work with crafts, superintendents, and managers.

Two levels exist: PM1 and PM2, with salaries $87,800–$143,000 and $106,400–$176,000 respectively. Strong technical leadership and DOE-regulated experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Technical expertise in overhead cranes, elevators, or similar equipment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Familiar with ASME A17.1, CMAA, OSHA 29 CFR 1910.179.
• Experience reviewing technical documentation and manufacturer recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee preventive maintenance programs for elevators and overhead cranes.
• Provide technical guidance to maintenance craft for troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance activities.
• Review and update PMIs using manufacturer recommendations and industry standards.
• Ensure maintenance programs comply with applicable codes, Lab policies, and manufacturer requirements.
• Support Replacement-in-Kind projects, equipment repairs, and new installations.
• Coordinate with equipment owners and vendors to identify parts and spares.
• Provide technical oversight of vendor-performed maintenance and repairs.
• Maintain drawings, manuals, and equipment guides.
• Support training and qualification of maintenance personnel.
