Job summary

Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) is seeking an Equipment Operator First-Line Manager to oversee day-to-day facility operations, ensure a culture of safety, and coordinate diverse technical teams that keep the mission moving forward.

The role requires a Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of related experience, with DOE Order 426.2 qualifications. You will guide safety compliance, manage the plan of the day, and support emergency response within a high-stakes environment.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of Integrated Safety Management, Formality of Operations, and Safety Basis.
• Understanding of work hazards, safety practices, operating configuration, lock-out/tag-out, and facility policies.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day facility operations and maintenance activities.
• Coordinate with Maintenance, Engineering, Safety Basis, Operations, and Radiation Protection.
• Lead the plan-of-the-day and incident reporting for senior leadership.
• Respond to emergencies as part of the Facility Incident Command.
• Translate rigorous safety standards into reliable, mission-critical facility performance.
