Job summary

CoreCivic in Florida is seeking a Facility Locksmith to install, maintain and repair facility locks and related hardware in an institutional, secure setting. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose malfunctions, and test operation after repairs using hand tools, diagnostic hardware and welding equipment when needed.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience with detention, commercial and industrial locking systems hardware installation.
• High School diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Locksmith certification and/or Architectural Hardware Certification training preferred.
• A valid driver's license.
• Minimum Age Requirement: Must at least 21 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventive maintenance, diagnoses and corrects problems involving various components.
• Operates a variety of equipment such as hand tools, welding equipment, laptop computers and diagnostic hardware to perform work.
• Inspects and tests equipment and tests operation following repair.
• Prepares and maintains standard operating records and reports.
• Coordinates with Maintenance Supervisor on high priority repairs and preventive maintenance.
