Job description

At Jacobs, we're challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world's most critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission-critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery and cutting-edge manufacturing, turning abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good.

Your impact

The Facility Lead supports the day-to-day operations of the Los Angeles office, helping to ensure a safe, efficient, and professional workplace environment. This role is responsible for facility services, workplace operations, vendor and landlord coordination, budgeting and financial administration, health and safety compliance, office projects, sustainability initiatives, and space management. The Facility Lead serves as a key partner to office leadership and corporate support teams while providing guidance and expertise on facility-related matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily facility operations, ensuring the office is properly equipped, maintained, and supports business objectives.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for landlords, property management, contractors, vendors, and service providers.
  • Manage facility budgets, invoices, purchase requests, financial reporting, and support annual planning activities.
  • Coordinate workplace services including reception, mail, records management, space utilization, and workplace systems.
  • Support office moves, renovations, furniture reconfigurations, and facility improvement projects.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies related to health, safety, security, business continuity, and sustainability.
  • Coordinate employee onboarding and offboarding activities, office access management, visitor management, and emergency communications.
  • Maintain facility, lease, utilization, sustainability, and compliance records and reporting.
  • Partner with office leadership and cross-functional teams including HR, IT, Security, Finance, and HSE to support operational needs.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members and contribute to best practice sharing across facility operations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workplace efficiency, employee experience, and operational effectiveness.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Working Conditions

  • 100% onsite role based in Los Angeles, California.
  • May require lifting up to 50 lbs., walking, bending, climbing stairs or ladders, and prolonged periods of sitting or computer use.

This version positions the role as a strong senior individual contributor with mentoring responsibilities and significant ownership, while avoiding the direct supervision and people-management expectations typically associated with a Lead role.

  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple priorities and complex facility-related issues.
  • Strong organizational, communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and workplace management systems.
