Job summary

Washington State Department of Corrections seeks a Health Services Manager 2 for Monroe Correctional Complex in Monroe, WA. This non-permanent role leads the Health Services Department, implementing healthcare policy and directing 24/7 care for incarcerated individuals.

The position oversees primary, secondary and tertiary care, including nursing, dental, pharmacy, radiology, and mental health services, while coordinating with contract and in-house staff to ensure quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of supervisory management experience in an acute or ambulatory health care system
• Extensive experience in leadership and administering health care services in a diverse organizational unit
• Ability to plan, lead, and control health care operations within a correctional facility
• Experience ensuring compliance with health care standards and regulatory requirements
• Proven ability to manage budgets and contract services with custody leadership

Responsibilities

• Plan, lead, organize, and control the work performed by the Health Care units
• Assure optimum use of resources to enhance staff development
• Direct and manage health services delivery including outpatient services
• Supervise care coordination with employed or contract professionals and community providers
• Ensure health care elements align with DOC mission and vision
• Lead facility health services through strategic long-term planning and policy implementation
• Coordinate hiring processes and recruitment plans for staff
• Monitor compliance with health care standards and regulatory requirements
