Job summary

Correctional Healthcare Partners seeks a Part-Time Medical Director/Designated Health Authority to oversee medical services at Whatcom County Jail in Bellingham, WA. The role combines direct patient care with clinical leadership and administrative oversight, approximately 8 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with no weekend hours.

The Medical Director will provide leadership to the onsite health team, ensure adherence to NCCHC, ACA, and professional standards, and collaborate with the HSA

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted Washington physician license.
• Current DEA registration and ability to meet applicable prescribing requirements.
• Current CPR certification.
• Board certification recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct medical care to patients within the facility
• Provide clinical leadership and oversight of medical services
• Collaborate with the HSA and Corporate Medical Director/CMO
• Support quality improvement, compliance, and patient safety initiatives
• Ensure medical services meet contractual, NCCHC, ACA, and professional standards
• Serve as the facility’s final clinical authority for medical decisions
• Support and provide guidance to the onsite healthcare team

CHP Health is seeking a Part-Time Medical Director/Designated Health Authority to join our team at Whatcom County Jail in Bellingham, Washington.

This on-site role combines direct medical care with clinical and administrative leadership. The Medical Director will provide approximately 8 hours of service per week, completed Monday through Friday, with no weekend hours required.
