Job summary

UT-Battelle at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) seeks a Facility Engineer to act as the primary technical resource and Design Authority for facility infrastructure in the Central Complex. You will oversee electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems, guiding installation, maintenance, and upgrades.

This role requires coordinating design scopes, managing subcontractors, and ensuring rigorous ES&H and QA compliance in a fast-paced research environment.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is required.
• Minimum five years of experience in facility systems, operations, and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Support design, installation, and maintenance of electrical, mechanical and HVAC systems.
• Maintain and continually improve preventive maintenance systems and processes.
• Coordinate outside contract work and oversee subcontractors.
• Ensure compliance with ES&H and QA requirements for operations and subcontracted construction/installation projects.
• Lead pre-job meetings and coordinate with craft personnel in a union environment.
• Manage projects and support large projects inside the complex.
• Write Scopes of Work for modifications and services for the facilities.
• Deliver ORNL’s mission by aligning behaviors with core values.
