Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems in Roy, UT seeks an experienced electrical engineer to design, analyze, and document power generation, conversion, and distribution for ground components. You will collaborate across teams, support external reviews, and participate in milestone discussions while delivering robust electrical solutions.

Ideal candidates have a DoD Secret clearance or the ability to obtain SAP approval, strong power-system tool experience, and a track record of shaping complex

Qualifications

  • US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain SAP approval within a reasonable period.
  • Knowledge of Siemens Teamcenter PLM or equivalent.
  • Electrical engineering experience in at least two of: electrical architecture, power system design, mixed-signal circuit development, interface definition, or power distribution.
  • Experience with power-system design and analysis tools such as ETAP, PSS/E, SKM, EasyPower, PSCAD or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of industry/military codes and standards: mil-specs, IEEE, NEC, NESC, NFPA, IEC, UFC.
  • Experience creating and executing schedules and technical recovery plans.
  • Capability to meet program technical, cost, and schedule milestones.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Senior or principal engineering level (12 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree, 10 years with a Master’s degree, or 8 years with a Ph.D.).

Responsibilities

  • Design and support electrical power generation, conversion, and distribution systems for ground components, including analysis, testing, and documentation.
  • Participate in program, customer, and supplier technical exchanges and milestone reviews to provide status updates.
  • Operate in a fast-paced environment with high expectations, diverse assignments, and collaborative team settings.
  • Coordinate facility electrical design with other integration teams.
  • Integrate and document electrical system designs for the weapon system, coordinating engineering content and work products.
  • Conduct research, evaluation, and systems integration in electrical or electro‑mechanical systems, cables, connectors, power systems, test equipment, and more.
  • Apply strong interpersonal skills to understand system‑level interdependencies affecting electrical requirements and design constraints.
  • Demonstrate leadership principles such as integrity, respect, organization, and communication.
