Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a responsible engineer to lead electrical subsystem work (Vehicle Management System, Power, or Navigation) from design through verification and sustainment at the Palmdale onsite facility.

You will coordinate with software, test, mechanical, and supplier teams, producing engineering artifacts and leading verification activities in a dynamic, funded program environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline with 2 years of related engineering experience; OR Master’s degree in STEM with 0 years experience.
  • Excellent technical communication skills, with experience producing requirements, ICDs, verification artifacts, and supporting test or certification activities.
  • Experience with development, design, or sustainment of electronic systems (VMS, Power, Navigation, or similar).
  • Active U.S. Government Secret clearance (with a background investigation within the past 5 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain initial SAP access via a PAR; SAP/PAR must be obtained prior to employment.
  • Travel up to 25% may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Responsible Engineer for an electrical subsystem across design, integration, verification, and sustainment phases.
  • Provide technical oversight and guidance to multiple software development and test teams, including software architecture and design.
  • Produce and maintain engineering artifacts: architecture diagrams, ICDs, requirements specifications, design descriptions, verification reports, and certification evidence.
  • Develop and maintain high-fidelity modeling and simulation environments; conduct Monte Carlo analysis, HIL, and SIL verification.
  • Lead integration and verification activities: create test plans, run simulations and tests, analyze results, and close verification artifacts.
