Job summary

Columbia Hospitality, Inc. is seeking a diligent janitorial associate to perform cleaning, sanitizing, and maintenance across assigned facilities. You will dust, vacuum, sanitize bathrooms, manage waste, and ensure high-visibility areas remain clean throughout shifts.

This role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and courteous interaction with guests and staff. Responsibilities include outdoor grounds upkeep, floor care, and reporting any facility issues to your supervisor.

Qualifications

• Basic operations of janitorial work.
• Basic methods, materials and equipment used in janitorial work.
• Basic safe work practices.
• The use of toxic and non-toxic chemicals (per MSDS sheets).
• Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Sufficiently communicate with co-workers and supervisors.
• Operate powered and non-powered janitorial equipment.
• Interpret warning labels on cleaning chemicals.

Responsibilities

• High dusting around room including lights, vents and ledges.
• Sanitizing surfaces below shoulder height using germicidal solution.
• Clean bathrooms with proper germicidal solution and replenish supplies.
• Empty trash cans and replace liners.
• Dust mop and vacuum, clean under furniture and in restrooms.
• Grounds care outdoors: clean ash urns, sidewalks and benches.
• Spot clean windows and clean public areas multiple times daily.
• Sanitize floors and mop behind doors as you back out of rooms.
• Inspect rooms for cleanliness and adjust as needed.
• Interact politely with customers and report issues to supervisor.
