Job summary

Curtiss-Wright DS, Inc. is seeking an EHS and facilities professional in Santa Clarita, CA. The role focuses on administering EHS policies, inspections, RCCAs, and safety culture improvement within the site’s maintenance operations.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of facilities or building operations experience, knowledge of Cal/OSHA, and the ability to coordinate with contractors and leadership to prevent injuries while maintaining daily site functionality. This is a full-time, on-site role.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in facilities maintenance or building operations.
• Experience with Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programs and practices.
• Knowledge of safety systems and processes (JSA, MOC, incident investigation).
• Basic knowledge of building maintenance, mechanical, electrical, HVAC, or facility systems.
• Experience working with contractors or vendors is a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support EHS policies and programs at the Santa Clarita facility.
• Conduct routine safety inspections and follow up on hazards and corrective actions.
• Lead RCCAs related to EHS incidents and near misses.
• Support continuous improvement of the site's EHS framework and safety culture.
• Coordinate safety committee meetings and track follow-up actions.
• Support emergency preparedness activities and drills.
• Perform JSAs and risk assessments and support MOC activities.
• Maintain EHS records and inspection reports.
• Coordinate with Facilities Lead on daily maintenance needs.
• Collaborate with employees and leadership to improve safety.
• Provide backup coverage for the Facilities Lead.

Your Challenge

• Environmental, Health & Safety Administer and support EHS policies, procedures, and programs at the facility.
• Conduct routine safety inspections and follow up on identified hazards and corrective actions.
• Lead or coordinate Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCAs) related to EHS incidents and near misses.
• Support continuous improvement of the site’s EHS framework and safety culture.
• Coordinate and facilitate safety committee meetings and track follow-up actions.
• Coordinate and participate in emergency preparedness activities, including fire and earthquake drills.
• Perform and support Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), risk assessments, and other hazard assessments.
• Support Management of Change (MOC) activities and other safety-related processes.
• Maintain appropriate EHS records, documentation, and inspection reports.
• Support compliance with California OSHA (Cal/OSHA) requirements and applicable company EHS standards.
• Partner with employees and leadership to identify opportunities to improve workplace safety and prevent injuries and illnesses.
• Facility Maintenance & Operations Coordinate with the Facilities Lead to address daily facility maintenance needs and priorities.
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance tasks throughout the facility.
• Support basic building, mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and general facility maintenance activities as needed.
• Perform general “handyman” duties, including furniture moves, minor repairs, painting, light construction, and facility cleanup.
• Operate hand and power tools and site equipment as required.
• Assist with coordination and support of outside contractors and service vendors.
• Help maintain facility-related documentation, records, diagrams, and maintenance logs.
• Support facility activities such as meeting/conference setup, waste and recycling activities, and employee break-area supplies.
• Assist with facility projects and other maintenance activities requiring additional support.
• Provide backup coverage for the Facilities Lead when needed.
• Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Your Expertise

• 2–3 years of experience in facilities maintenance, building operations, or a related field.
• Experience or working knowledge of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programs and practices.
• Knowledge of safety systems and processes, including: Job Safety Analysis (JSA) Risk Assessments Management of Change (MOC) Incident investigation and corrective actions Prior experience working with or supporting Cal/OSHA compliance preferred.
• Basic knowledge of building maintenance, mechanical, electrical, HVAC, or general facility systems.
• Experience working with contractors, vendors, or service providers is a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to safely use basic hand and power tools.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple facility and EHS activities in a fast-paced environment.
• High initiative and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving safety and facility issues.
• Ability to work collaboratively with employees, leadership, contractors, and cross-functional teams.
• Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and perform physical activities such as standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, and working in various facility areas.
