Job summary

COPE Community Services, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to oversee general maintenance of facilities and vehicle upkeep under supervision.

The role requires at least 1 year of hand-on experience in building and vehicle maintenance and the ability to work independently. The candidate must be able to communicate effectively in writing and speech, manage limited-budget purchases for repair supplies, and perform basic electrical/plumbing tasks.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year in general building and vehicle maintenance.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
• Experience purchasing supplies within a limited budget.
• Knowledge of basic utilities and systems (electrical, plumbing).
• Some knowledge of mental illness and substance abuse populations and interaction ability.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Respond to general maintenance requests in a timely, cost-efficient manner.
• Perform basic utility and systems repair or coordination.
• Purchase quality repair supplies cost-effectively.
• Assist in coordinating vehicle upkeep.
• Assist in transporting vehicles to repair shops as needed.
• Assist in moving agency programs, staff and client items to/from agency property.
• Perform indoor and outdoor cleanup around buildings.
• Turnover apartments.
