Job summary

Pinewood Health & Rehabilitation is seeking a reliable Maintenance Assistant to help maintain a safe, clean, and functional environment for residents, staff, and visitors at our Kentucky facility.

You will perform landscaping, door and fixture repairs, HVAC servicing assistance, minor plumbing and electrical tasks, participate in safety procedures, and keep records. Strong safety mindset and good communication are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience with minor electrical, plumbing, or carpentry tasks is advantageous.
• Ability to read and follow safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist with landscaping tasks and lawn care.
• Repair doors, windows, light fixtures, and other hardware.
• Service HVAC units per manufacturer guidelines and policy.
• Perform minor plumbing, electrical, and carpentry tasks.
• Support safety tasks and maintain life safety records.
• Respond to maintenance requests and perform preventive maintenance.
• Maintain tools and equipment and follow safety procedures.

We are seeking a reliable and resourceful Maintenance Assistant to join our team. As a Maintenance Assistant at our facility, you will help maintain a safe, clean, comfortable, and functional environment for our residents, staff, and visitors. Maintenance Assistant Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist with landscaping tasks (mowing, trimming, planting) and maintain lawn care equipment

• Maintain exterior & interior door locks; repair windows, screens, and light fixtures

• Clean/change air filters; service heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) units per manufacturer guidelines and facility policy

• Perform minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry tasks (e.g., painting, wall repairs, ceiling tile replacement)

• Assist in building safety tasks: fire drills, safety audits, life safety code compliance, maintain records

• Ensure compliance of life safety equipment (e.g. fire extinguishers)

• Respond to maintenance requests / perform preventive maintenance / keep facility systems in working order

• Maintain equipment and tools; follow safety procedures

Maintenance Assistant Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED preferred

• Carpentry, painting, minor electrical and plumbing skills preferred

• Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks

• Good problem-solving skills; ability to make independent decisions when needed

• Good communication skills; able to interact professionally with staff, residents, and visitors

• Ability to work safely, adhere to procedures, and use tools and equipment responsibly

• Physical stamina: must be able to lift, bend, climb, stand for long periods
