Job summary

Mars is seeking an experienced Utilities Technician to oversee operations and maintenance of facility utilities, including boiler systems, across buildings and grounds. You will lead MSE/PM initiatives, manage contractors, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.

The role requires 5+ years in facilities, strong boiler knowledge, and CMMS experience. This is a full-time position based on site in the US, with a competitive benefits package and bonus potential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor level degree preferred in Facility Management, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in facility maintenance, utilities management, or related roles.
• Experience operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting boilers (steam/hot water).
• Boiler Operator’s License or equivalent certification preferred per local rules.
• Experience leading Mars Supply Excellence PM programs.
• Contractor management experience including vendor selection and oversight.
• Strong knowledge of building systems, utilities and grounds maintenance.
• Experience with CMMS systems and data-driven maintenance.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical docs, blueprints, regulations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operation and maintenance of facility utilities including boilers, HVAC, electrical, plumbing.
• Manage boiler operations start/stop, monitoring, troubleshooting of steam and hot water systems.
• Ensure boiler compliance with safety, environmental, and manufacturer guidelines.
• Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on boilers and pumps/valves.
• Monitor energy use and implement efficiency initiatives to cut costs.
• Coordinate with external vendors for specialized maintenance.
• Lead PM pillar strategies for utilities, buildings, and grounds.
• Develop PM schedules with cross-functional teams for reliability.
• Analyze maintenance data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Provide training and maintain PM documentation per Mars standards.
• Supervise maintenance staff and groundskeepers; foster safety culture.
