Job summary

The State of Colorado invites applications for a Grounds Keeping/Building Maintenance role at the Rifle Veterans Community Living Center. The position covers grounds care, routine facility maintenance, and light repairs to keep a safe, accessible environment for residents and staff.

Ideal candidates have multi-trade maintenance skills, strong attention to safety, and the ability to work with teams and contractors.

Qualifications

• Four (4) years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned.
• Combination of related education, formalized apprenticeship, and/or relevant experience equal to four years.
• Preferences include state service experience and multi-trade repair skills.
• Ability to read technical documents and perform preventive maintenance.
• Wamiliarity with safety codes and facility operations is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Maintain daily grounds including mowing, trimming, fertilization, pruning, irrigation, and debris removal.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on building systems and equipment.
• Handle minor repairs in electrical, plumbing and HVAC disciplines as needed.
• Assist with safety inspections, equipment checks and supply ordering.
• Provide orientation and lead staff or volunteers as required.
