Job summary

The Delaware Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS) is seeking a skilled trades supervisor in Delaware to oversee painting, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC and related maintenance work. You will schedule, assign, and review tasks, inspect sites, and manage projects from planning through completion.

Candidates should have at least three years in trades and supervision, plus knowledge of safety codes. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Three years experience supervising trades workers (plumbing, carpentry, painting, HVAC).
• Three years experience performing work in a variety of trades fields such as plumbing, carpentry, painting or HVAC.

Responsibilities

• Schedules ongoing preventive or routine maintenance duties.
• Assigns, supervises and participates in work involving all phases of painting, carpentry, plumbing, installation, repair and maintenance of systems and equipment, and other related duties.
• Inspects job site, determines courses of action, directs staff and reviews assignments.
• Schedules assignments, estimates cost, time and materials.
• Maintains records and prepares reports.
• May diagram structural and/or mechanical modifications and heating work.
