Job summary

The University of Denver’s Facilities Management team seeks a skilled tradesperson to install, maintain and repair HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems across campus facilities. You will work independently or with others to keep critical building systems in reliable working order.

Responsibilities include routine maintenance, emergency support, and documenting tasks in CMMS; the role requires physical ability, strong attention to detail, and willingness to participate in ongoing training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Four+ years combined experience in trades including plumbing, HVAC, electrical or maintenance.
• Valid Colorado Driver's License and insurability.
• Pre-employment physical and ability to lift 100 lbs.
• Experience with hand and electrical tools; track tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Read drawings to locate equipment and understand electrical/plumbing/HVAC systems.
• Follow policies and perform tasks with supervision or independently as needed.
• Shadow experienced tradespeople for on-the-job training.
• Perform basic electrical tasks: replace switches, receptacles, fixtures, and reset breakers.
• Assist with HVAC maintenance: filter replacement, coil cleaning, boiler checks, and system evaluations.
• Assist with plumbing maintenance: repair leaks, replace gaskets, pump maintenance.
• Maintain organized workspaces and inventory; document tasks in CMMS.
• Support snow removal and other duties as assigned.
