Job summary

Front Range Community College in Colorado is seeking a facilities technician to perform general building maintenance, landscape care and basic remodeling tasks across campus properties. This role supports HVAC, electrical and custodial work while ensuring safety protocols and on-site reliability.

Two years of related experience are required, with substitutions allowed for education or an apprenticeship. A valid Colorado driver’s license and background check are required.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in an occupational field related to the work assigned.
• Substitutions: appropriate education or successful completion of a formalized apprenticeship program related to the position will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
• Lived Experience Qualifications: Two (2) years working experience volunteering as a carpenter helper, painting, assisting someone working on plumbing or working on HVAC.
• Residency: This posting is only open to residents of the State of Colorado at the time of submitting your application.
• Must possess and maintain a current, valid State of Colorado Driver’s License to operate company vehicles.
• Pre-employment background check including a motor vehicle record (MVR) is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs general building systems maintenance, i.e. repairs to roofing, siding, caulking, drywall and doors.
• Assist Grounds with basic landscaping, trash removal, and snow removal.
• Assist HVAC repairs & electrical system repairs including pumps, filters, belts, gauges and light fixtures.
• Painting of classrooms, study areas, restrooms, and offices using appropriate tools and products.
• Assist with remodeling projects including demolition, framing, drywall, ceiling grid, doors and flooring.
• Assisting Custodial department with supplies, waste handling, and equipment repair.
• Record time sheets, input work orders/data base, read and send emails.
• Follow safety procedures and use PPE.
