Job summary

Carter Machinery Co. Inc. is hiring a Facilities Technician - Mechanical/Electrical to support maintenance across our stores and facilities.

You’ll perform preventative maintenance, install low voltage transformers and three‑phase hookups, and troubleshoot HVAC and electrical systems while handling plumbing and carpentry tasks. The role requires a high school diploma or GED and HVAC or electrical licenses or equivalent experience, with willingness to travel to CMCO stores as needed.

Qualifications

• HVAC or electrical licenses or equivalent experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to troubleshoot HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.
• Willingness to travel to CMCO stores as needed.
• Willingness to work additional hours to meet business and customer demands.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate maintenance requests and obtain materials.
• Install and maintain low voltage transformers and three-phase hookups.
• Perform preventive maintenance on air compressors and repair components.
• Troubleshoot and repair air conditioning and heating units.
• Perform general maintenance: exterior/interior tasks, painting, lighting, electrical, plumbing.
• Keep supervisor informed of repairs and needs.
• Assist in office setups and coordinate waste oil handling.
• Travel to other facilities to assist Buildings and Grounds.
• Snow removal and environmental compliance.
• Work with team to achieve Continuous Improvement.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
