Job summary

Carter Machinery is seeking a Facilities Technician - Mechanical/Electrical in Manassas, VA. You will perform a wide range of maintenance tasks across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry disciplines, including preventative maintenance, repairs, and installations.

The role requires licenses or equivalent experience, a high mechanical aptitude, and reliable teamwork. A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to CMCO stores are required.

Qualifications

• HVAC license, electrical license, or equivalent experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• High mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot and perform mechanical repairs of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and carpentry.
• Good communication skills.
• Positive interaction with supervisor and customer concerns.
• Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize, coordinate, obtain materials, and complete maintenance requests.
• Install and maintain low voltage transformers and three-phase electrical hook-ups.
• Perform preventative maintenance on air compressors and replace components as needed.
• Troubleshoot and repair air conditioning, heating units, and waste oil heaters.
• Perform general maintenance: exterior, interior, painting, lighting, electrical, plumbing.
• Maintain repair logs and coordinate with supervisor on repairs.
