Job summary

University Guest House & Conference Center at the University of Utah is seeking a Facilities/Maintenance Technician II to maintain guest rooms, conference spaces, and building systems on campus. The role requires performing routine and moderately complex repairs with guidance from senior staff.

The successful candidate will handle HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting and general maintenance with strong guest-service focus in a hospitality setting.

Qualifications

• Equivalency: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience.
• Department may hire at Facilities / Maintenance Technician II level with 1 year of related experience.
• Experience in hotel, hospitality, or institutional facilities maintenance is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and moderately complex maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting in guest rooms, conference facilities, public spaces, and other areas.
• Maintain HVAC, plumbing, electrical, doors/locks, lighting, and other building systems.
• Complete preventative maintenance according to schedules and procedures.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests to minimize guest disruption.
