Job summary

Chano And Sons is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform routine maintenance and repairs to keep the hotel’s buildings, equipment, and systems safe and efficient.

The role is hands-on with basic knowledge in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general maintenance; dependability, attention to detail and guest‑service focus are valued. This full-time, on-site position offers $22.00–$25.00 per hour in West Salt Lake City, UT and requires adherence to safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house areas, and hotel systems (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, lighting).
• Respond promptly to guest service requests and maintenance issues.
• Repair or replace fixtures, hardware, furniture, appliances, or equipment as needed.
• Maintain records of work performed and report major maintenance needs or safety hazards to supervisors.
• Ensure tools and supplies are properly stocked and secured.
• Assist with upkeep of exterior areas such as parking lots, walkways, landscaping, and pool (if applicable).
• Help set up or break down equipment for meetings, banquets, or events as needed.
• Monitor and maintain safety systems such as fire extinguishers, alarms, and emergency exits.
• Adhere to all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout protocols, and use PPE as required.
• Assist in energy and water conservation efforts by reporting leaks, inefficient lighting, etc.
• Work collaboratively with housekeeping, front desk, and other departments to ensure guest satisfaction.
