The University of Utah is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead a team of Maintenance Specialists, Mechanics, and Locksmiths. The role ensures efficient resource use to support residential housing services and safety for students and staff.

The Maintenance Supervisor is a working supervisory position that reports to the Assistant Director of Facilities. Responsibilities include the supervision of the Maintenance Specialists, Mechanics, and Locksmith, as well as seasonal staff members. This position ensures the efficient and effective use of resources to meet the needs of the residential community.
The department may choose to hire at any of the below job levels and associated pay rates based on their business need and budget.
1- Develop work standards and practices for maintenance staff; establish and maintain a priority system for emergency responses based on student and facility needs. Ensures compliance with all applicable safety regulations, building codes and safety requirements.
EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).
Senior Supervisor, Facilities Management: Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 4 years or a master's (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience.

Regular working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The position also participates in a rotating on-call schedule, which includes an extended shift from 12:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and responsibility for responding to after-hours maintenance calls via an on-call phone from 9:30 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. Rotations ensure 24-hour maintenance coverage for University Housing facilities
