Job summary

County of Thurston is seeking a Facilities Technician II to join the Facilities Services Team. You will perform hands-on maintenance and repair of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, electronic controls, fire alarms, security systems, lighting, and irrigation.

The role requires troubleshooting, reading blueprints, and working with customers and vendors. Schedule is Monday–Thursday, 6:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with potential after-hours as needed for essential operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; vocational training preferred and may substitute for one year of experience.
• Three years of building equipment maintenance and operation experience, including hands-on control experience.
• Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and control systems; knowledge of codes/regulations.

Responsibilities

• Identify, troubleshoot, test, and diagnose building system problems.
• Set and adjust parameters in software controlling fire monitoring, DDC, or security systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on major equipment via electronic work orders.
• May supervise and direct other staff on facilities projects.
