Job summary

Astera Health is seeking a Facilities Technician II for a full-time, on-site role with an 80-hour biweekly schedule. The position runs Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and includes a weekend/holiday on-call rotation every five weeks.

The role focuses on maintaining buildings, grounds, and critical plant systems to ensure uninterrupted operations. You will support the Assistant/Director in planning repairs, improving facilities, and ensuring compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and Joint

Qualifications

• Furthered education within related facilities management field (i.e. technical college, stationary steam engineering class and plant and building maintenance); Or combined years of relevant education and experience to perform the essential duties of this position.
• Minnesota 2nd Class C Boiler License, or ability to obtain the Minnesota 2nd Class C Boilers License within 18 months of employment.
• Three years’ experience in building maintenance and/or operation of plant; Or combined relevant education and experience to perform the essential duties of this position.

Responsibilities

• Maintains transmission of light, heat service utilities and power sources to provide uninterrupted service.
• Assists in planning, programming maintenance repairs or improvements of building structure, grounds and utilities.
• Assures facility safety and compliance with health facility regulations (OSHA, NFPA, Joint Commission).
• Maintains exterior surfaces and grounds, including snow/ice removal and hazard prevention.
• Operates boilers, pumps, refrigeration, air handling and related systems to prevent breakdowns during crucial times.
• Performs carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical work, painting, masonry, welding and other maintenance tasks as needed.
